Tag, I'm it

So I got tagged. A long ass time ago.

7 Random Things About Me

1. My ex-husband once smashed a spider with a shoe. It promptly exploded with spider babies/spider eggs all over. I threw up all over the carpet. Actually, I threw up as I was screaming for the dog and cat to get away from the infinite grossness that is exploding spiders. Yeah, he vacuumed about 93 times (at my insistence) and I wouldn't let him keep the vacuum in the house for 3 months. I wanted to trash the vacuum but he was too cheap to agree.
2. I envy people. For stupid reasons. If you have no butt, I envy you. If you have great hair, I envy you. If you don't have to wear glasses, I envy you. I don't envy people for their stuff, I envy people for stuff about them. I don't care what car you drive or where you live, but if you are skinny and have great hair - ppppbbbbttttt. But you can still be my friend.
3. I am very loud and outspoken. Love to talk in front of people. But if I have to confront someone, I cower up and want to cry. I hated being a supervisor because it meant that I might have to correct people. Why don't people come in, do their job and then go home?? It's not that hard.
4. In high school and college (resembling the first 2 sentences of #3 above) I wanted to be spokesperson for a part of the government or a major corporation. Still kinda do.
5. I adore animals. I am a huge animal lover. No, I am not a PETA person, but don't let me catch you doing anything mean to an animal. I will smack you stupid. I took my dog for her shots on Sunday (first trip to a new vet) and I had to hold her while she got her shots. At her old vet, they let me leave the room. I am a nervous "mom". The folks at this new vet thought I was going to pass out and/or cry.
6. I have always adapted what I liked to the person I was seeing. But now, with Mark, as I started adapting to stuff he liked, I found that I really liked it. Before, I just went along. Now, I enjoy talk radio (even though I listen to more sports talk than news talk), peppery food, and have enjoyed his types of movies. He has taught me to be more open.
7. I have written posts about going to Iraq and Kuwait, but I have also been to Japan and Alaska. They were two of the most beautiful places I have ever been.

That's it. I have no one to tag. So if you care - please feel free.

(oh and I had a completely serious #7 but I erased it. That can be a post someday)

Hi, Margaret!

What a neat post.

I especially identify with Nos. 2 and 5, and I think No. 6 is so sweet.

No. 6... That's the way it's supposed to be, right? Making an effort to connect with the one you love? And the fact that you ended up enjoying the things he likes (or at least some of them)... well, that made your life richer, too!

A great lesson for people to learn, myself included... don't be too afraid or too cynical (or too lazy) to try new things, even if you're certain you won't like them. You may get a big surprise!

I knew some of these about you (I think), others are a surprise.
That's a really good list!!

I'm the same way about animals, and I LOVE sports talk radio. It used to be all I listened to, but I'm branching out and into music now. And I envy you, because you've been to such wonderful places. But I'm totally going to have nightmares about that freaking exploding spider tonight, so thanks for that! ;)

God I am so with you on number 3. I can be an outspoken bitch or the biggest wussy in the world. ;)

Oh Alaska, I would love to go someday. And my mother has been to Japan, and the photos were so beautiful, they blew me away. I was so ignorant and had no idea how gorgeous it was.

And listen, is Blogger trying to tell me something? The word verification says "fixrump."

Fine.
