Recap of past 28 hours in my life with Mark

Last night - he sang "She works hard for her money" from 5:40pm (when he walked in) until I went upstairs at 6:25. He, sang the "real" version and a version for me AND a version for the cat AND a version for the dog. Whenever I went back downstairs, he continued to sing all versions. The dog's version was something about her workin' hard for her food. The cat's - something about workin' hard to be fat... Mine - something about that I work hard for my money and I will probably kick his ass (it actually goes well with the tune).

Then....today..... (all times below are AM - as in THE MORNING)

4:15 - woke up with a wacky dream about the wedding (been having those way too much)
4:18 - realized I couldn't ignore the fact that I had to pee any longer
4:20 - back in bed
4:22 - wondering why when Mark wakes up to go pee, how comes sometimes he goes into the guest bathroom rather than the bathroom that is 4 feet away from the bed?
4:25 - wondering if I can squeeze a half hour more sleep
4:37 - as I am dozing off, I get startled by "MARGARET!!! WAKE UP!!!! IT'S TIME FOR THE ECLIPSE!!!!!! I AM GETTING THE CAMERA! LET'S GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO"
4:40 - in the backyard, in my jammies listening to Mark gripe about NOT having a BB gun to shoot out the street lights because they are taking away his view of the eclipse.
4:41 listened to Mark sing "Total Eclipse of the Heart"
5:10 - Mark comes into the bathroom when I am showering and sings it at the top of his lungs (he hasn't stopped singing it). When I kindly (ok, maybe not) ask him to SHUT UP. He then temporarily changes the words to the song to something about me being a cranky britches in the morning
5:30 - He is in the shower, still singing, I tell him I am leaving. To which he sings some type of good bye song to the tune of Total Eclipse of the Heart

It's like 5 1/2 weeks till the wedding. He tells me this is the "real" him. What in HELL am I getting into?

Oh, my! This is eerie. Maybe I am Mark's Mom. I sing crap like that all the time. Wait till you have kids... it gets worse 'cause he'll start making up cute little songs with the kid's name in them to the alphabet song and row, row, row your boat. BAIL I tell you!!!
Okay, not really.
We took some pics of the eclipse, but I haven't loaded them up yet, so I don't know if they turned out very well. One nice thing about living in the countyr... very few street lights. We have a few since we live in town, but to the west, there is nothing but trees and grass. Matthew and I stood at the back door with it opened so we could see without getting eaten by mosquitos.

Yeah, well, Lew has always made up wacky song lyrics with phrases like "moldy beef with cheese" and "wipe my knees" in them. They are usually sung with a Yiddish accent. And now he's got Noodles doing it too...except the kid hasn't got the accent down yet.

I don't know, a 4am type of person just needs to be taken out and shot. :)

Hee hee - I don't know - I wonder if my husband says the same thing about me....I change lyrics constantly to match whatever I'm doing. BUT - I don't get anyone out of bed at 4am - even myself. I love sleep.

30 years later and my hubby still does it. He passed this obsession to my kids and now g-kids. You should hear them play and sing their version of "Itsy Bitsy Spider"!

Hand the boy a guitar and run like crazy. Just kidding. I love it when someone changes the lyrics...maybe not at 4 in the morning, though.

MY hubby is CONSTANTLY making up songs. I understand completely. Sometimes you want to just smack them in the head and scream at them to give it a rest!

I knew about the eclipse, but just didn't care enough.

And really, sometimes you find out things 10 yeard down the road about your spouse, which is kinda cool.

Okay-
Min's comment is totally cracking me up! And I had no idea there was an eclipse. Whoops! I actually would have really liked to see it, but there's no way in hell I would have been up that early voluntarily.
