Where do I start ??

So, here it is, 6 minutes past 11pm on a "school night" (meaning I have work tomorrow).

I am NOT a night person. I prefer to be asleep by 10pm...10:30 at the latest.

Since i haven't been at work since last week Tuesday, I have been going to sleep a smidge later (11'ish). Today was a long day (worked in the garage in the stupid stinkin Texas heat from 10:30 until 2:30) and i was miserable.

Finally get to bed and am having problems sleeping. Mark has no problems and is sleeping away. I finally do my version of meditating and start counting and breathing. In - one, two, three, four; Out - five, six, seven, eight. And so on. I am somewhere in the two-hundreds (yes, it took me that long) and I finally feel myself stop counting. Or at least that's the last I remember.

Ahhhhh....

DING DONG DING DONG DING DONG DING DONG

Then I screamed. Literally.

Apparantly Mark slept thru the DING DONG DING DONG DING DONG DING DONG but not thru me screaming.

His exact words were "what in the hell?"

Me: "The doorbell"

Him: "I know it was the doorbell....what in the hell were you screaming about?"

OK - Butthead - it's 10:50 at night the doorbell rings, I was asleep and you wonder why I am screaming?

Me: "Do you want my gun???"

Him: "For what?" (standing at our window overlooking the front of the house)

Me: "To go check it out"

Him: "To go check WHAT out?"

Can he seriously be this dense???? Isn't that why I am getting married? For him to kill bugs, take out trash and investigate strange noises???

Me: "Fine, I will go and check it out."

Him: "In that???" (NOTE: I am wearing a XXL t-shirt and boxers)

Me: "I may have to smother you when you go back to sleep"

Him: "I think it was a short in the doorbell" (still standing at our bedroom window overlooking the front of the house)

Me: "Go turn on the front porchlight in case it was one of neighbor kids"

Him: "Why"

Me: Maybe the light will scare them

Him: Scare them from what

Me: Or maybe if there's something wrong, they will come back and ring the bell again

Him: You are making NO sense

Me: And you need to turn on the front porchlight so I can go back to counting.

Him: Ummm....ok.

----Guess I forgot to tell him about my counting to go to sleep, huh?

The hell?! Someone is trying to tell you something I think. There's something you're supposed to be doing and the universe is trying to tell you.

Either that or you just have really bad luck. Try some sedatives.

WAH????? Are your neighbors out of fireworks, is their stereo broken..are they now reduced to ring-and-run to keep you awake?!?!?

But the real question is - Do they know that you have a gun? I would put on my wildest pjs and sit in the middle of the front yard to clean my gun. Seriously...smear a little lipstick all around your face and talk to yourself...

Nobody messes with the crazy white lady with the gun.

Sooo I have to know, was it really the doorbell? I heard a knock last night but it wasn't a real knock. Sometimes just as I am falling asleep, I hear a noise like someone knocking on the door. Why? I have no idea. But, I hate it because then I can't sleep....

I could never count to sleep. I'd be counting in my dreams all night long.
I agree with 'for the love'. Try the crazy lady thing and these people won't even look directly at you let alone mess with your doorbell.
I've awarede you with the Rockin' Girl Blogger award. You Rock!

Maybe you were counting BEFORE you smothered him in his sleep.

Yes, get it in writing-

"I will kill bugs, take out the trash and investigate loud noises."

They've got to be good for something, right? ;)

How bizarre...some kids rang our doorbell at 1:30 AM last night. And no, I'm not waiting up for them to do it again, even though I should be in bed right now instead of online.-
